5 – Pas de Deux Classes

Pas de Deux Classes – Read on….
Classes are certainly getting more intense with nothing escaping the eyes of their teachers – we are clearly seeing the progress each day.
Back to panic! Here comes the first pas de deux class with the former principal dancer of Cuban National Ballet, Romelio Frometa and two boys from the Company, Chino and Isiah.
Despite my warnings that this was effectively their first pas de deux class, ‘El Profe’ (Professor) smiled cheekily and threw the lot at them. A few minutes of learning to trust the boys made all the difference and soon they were pirouette-ing, pivoting and penchee-ing.
Fast forward a few days and in the 2nd Pas de Deux class, Frometa decided it was time to get air-borne!
Shoulder lifts
Fish Dives
Shoulder Splits and more!
The smiles said it all, such a sense of acheivement in overcoming those fears of failing. The boys are exceptional partners with experience, style and kindness in encouraging the newbies.
Back to the hotel, chatting non-stop about the day’s excitement, ready for a visit to the pool and some sun-lounging.
See you on the next blog as we watch the Company dancers.
